Lynn Spencer is our Senior Web Designer at Principal Image where she specialises in e-commerce and brochure web design. She developed her web design and development skills working with one of the biggest global brands.
Recently we put Lynn under the PI spotlight. Here’s how she got on in our quick fire question and answer session:
Tell us a little about your background:
After graduating from Newcastle College of Art & Design, I began my career at IBM within the in-house design department where I gained knowledge and experience of producing design for both print and web audiences for this household name.
I left IBM after 12 years to set up my own web design agency. It was an exciting time and my experience of designing for a digital audience broadened significantly working on a wide range of e-commerce and brochure sites.
After 8 years I decided to spread my wings and join a professional brand agency that specialises in brochure and ecommerce websites. I joined Principal Image in 2014 to support the expansion of our web services team and I’ve never looked back!
What do you do in your spare time?
As a busy mum and taxi driver of 3 children, when I do get a moment…I’m passionate about interior design! I love mooching around junk shops on the lookout for a bargain to up-cycle and transform.
But really, I’m a girl of simple pleasures and enjoy time with my friends and family eating lovely food and having the odd glass of wine!
Which design project are you most proud of and why?
I’ve worked on a vast amount of projects since starting at PI. The most memorable would be ‘Voozo’, a new car buying website. This project initially involved the development of the brand itself which needed to be strong enough to stand out online in a highly competitive market. The website itself was a massive challenge from a functional point of view with a high level of content that would need updating on a regular basis.
The client was over the moon with the final result!
What’s the best thing about working at Principal Image?
I love the team; they are pleasure to work with, friendly and fun. We all really get on with one another and there’s a really nice vibe throughout the office. It makes a huge difference to work with a bunch of people that just click! Our offices are in a lovely location…and the works not bad either!
